Day 1/Arrival – City Tour

Meet and transfer to the hotel. After breakfast at the hotel start the City tour in Yerevan. The pink and ancient and at the same time cheerful city welcomes all its visitors in all its modesty and luxury. This ancient city is older than Rome. The city has witnessed four settlement phases from the end of the 4th millennium BC to the beginning of the 2nd millennium BC. Lying on the main trade routes between East and West, Yerevan was constantly fought back and forth during the course of the time.
The tour will include the following sites:
- Cascade Monument - It has 2780 stairs designating the 2780 anniversary of the capital city. If you walk up the “huge staircase” of 500 meters height and 50 meters width, you can enjoy the wonderful panorama of the city with the spectacular Opera House, Mount Ararat as well as the view to the whole city.
- Matenadaran - The institution is a major center for study and preservation of Armenian works of ancient literature. Matenadaran now protects about 16477 surviving materials and around 300,000 archive documents, among them about 2500 fragments collected in the depository.
- Оpera House - The Armenian National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre was officially opened on 20 January 1933. The opening of the theatre promoted the creation of new opera and ballet performances.

Day 2/Yerevan – Garni – Geghard - Yerevan

After breakfast at the hotel start the tour visiting the region of Kotayk.
- Garni Temple – a pagan temple built in 1st century BC. It is the only survival of the Hellenic epoch in the whole territory of the Caucasus.
- Lunch tasting traditional Armenian dishes. Here in Garni, you can also watch the process of “lavash” making in the traditional underground oven “tonir”.
- Monastery of Geghard (UNESCO) – It was first recorded in a document of 1250. The monastery is also famous due to the relics, among which the most important one is the spear which had wounded Christ on the Cross presumably brought there by the Apostle Thaddeus.

Day 3/Yerevan – Echmiadzin – Zvartnots - Yerevam

After breakfast at the hotel, we will start the tour in the region of Armavir and will start the UNESCO tour:
- Holy See of Armenian Catholicos (UNESCO) - 4th century. It is the oldest church in Armenia, and one of the oldest churches around the world.
- St. Gayane (UNESCO) – 7th century. Its design has remained unchanged despite partial renovations of the dome and some ceilings in 1652.
- St. Hripsime (UNESCO) - one of the oldest surviving churches in Armenia. It is known for its fine Armenian-style architecture of the classical period, which has influenced many other Armenian churches since.
- Lunch tasting traditional Armenian dishes
- Zvartnots Temple (UNESCO) – 7th century. The structure stands out among others with its unique architectural solutions.
- Brandy Factory in Yerevan - The legendary Armenian land has a long history behind of making wine of really delicate taste. According to a well known legend Noah planted the first vine in the fertile Ararat valley. After that people tasted the first wine, and thus the production began and spread throughout the country.

Day 4/Yerevan – Noratus – Hayravank – Sevanavank - Sevan

After breakfast at the hotel, the tour will include the following sites:
- Noratus - cemetery of cross-stones, the largest one in the territory of Armenia. Many khachkhars in the cemetery of Noratus, date back to the 13-17th centuries, and the oldest one was curved in 10th century.
- Hayravank Monastery
- Lunch tasting traditional Armenian dishes, and particularly fish from the Lake Sevan
- Sevanavank Monastery - During the 8th century a few monks settled on the former island of Sevan and began to build their churches. Due to the strategically good location, many others came here. For a while it was the residence of the king Ashot Erkat (Ashot the Iron) who received his name due to his numerous glorious victories. With the time the walls of the monastery were destroyed and in 1930 the last monk left the monastery.

Day 5/Sevan – Goshavank – Haghartsin - Stepanavan

After breakfast at the hotel, the group will drive to the green region of Armenia, Tavush Region.
- Goshavank Monastery – 1188. Goshavank used to be a medieval university with a depository of manuscripts. Mkhitar Gosh was the one who codified the first book of law and also wrote the fables with moral points.
- Lunch tasting traditional Armenian dishes
- Haghartsin Monastesry - 10-13th century. The complex consists of St. Grigor, St. Astvatsatsin (The Mother of God), St. Stepanos churches and other buildings.
- Dinner and overnight in Stepanavan

 

Day 6/Stepanavan – Sanahin – Haghpat – Odzun - Yerevan

After breakfast at the hotel, visit two of the UNESCO sites of Armenia:
- Sanahin Monastery (UNESCO) – 10th century. The name Sanahin literally translates from Armenian as "this one is older than that one", presumably representing a claim to having an older monastery than the neighbouringHaghpat Monastery.
- Haghpat Monastery (UNESCO) – 10th century, a "masterpiece of religious architecture and a major center of learning in the Middle Ages"
- Lunch tasting traditional Armenian dishes
- House Museum of Hovhannes Tumanyan – here you can enjoy the Armenian style village.
- Dinner and overnight in Yerevan

Day 7/Yerevan – Khor Virap – Noravank – Areni - Yerevan

After breakfast at the hotel we will drive to the Northern part of Armenia visiting the following sites:
- Khor Virap Monastery – this is the very place where Christianity was spread in Armenia in 301 AD. It is the very place where the first Armenian Catholicos Gregory the Illuminator was jailed for long 13 years for disseminating Christianity in Armenia. Here you can enjoy the best view to the Biblical Mount Ararat.
- Noravank Monastery – 13th century. A monastery of picturesque panorama, ancient history and great significance.
- Lunch tasting traditional Armenian dishes in a cave café
- Areni winery – Degustation of delicate Armenian wine. The winery discovered in the village of Areni quite recently in 2007 is the oldest proved winery facility in the world. It is 6100 years old.
- Farewell dinner and overnight in Yerevan
